How to kill Best Man Speech nerves…
Posted on November 6, 2008
It can be pretty nervewracking - all eyes are on you, and if you’re not a natural joker it can be pretty difficult to entertain a crowd if you’re unprepared. Here’s a few tips that will kill those nerves dead and help you to deliver a cracking speech that will have them rolling in the aisles…
Keep the whole thing in perspective
It’s really not that big a deal if you forget your lines, or people don’t laugh out as loudly as you’d hoped. At the end of the day, everyone in the room knows how stressful public speaking can be, so don’t worry - they’re all on your side. Everyone’s there to have fun, not scrutinize your performance.
Prepare well
If you’ve taken plenty of time to get your speech ready, you’ll be a lot more confident than if you’ve left it to the night before to throw something together. There are plenty of books out there to help you put together a killer best man speech, and it can actually be a lot of fun to do.
Get into “the mode” before your curtain call
The meal is a great opportunity to have a laugh and a chat with the people around you, and so putting you in the right mental state for entertaining. Have a couple of drinks but don’t overdo it - you’ll just make yourself even more nervous.
How to save a ton of money on your Stag Night T-Shirts
Posted on November 5, 2008
With so many t-shirt printing companies out there offering various different deals, it’s difficult to find the best one for the job of making your stag night t-shirts. Here’s a big tip to help save you a good few quid…
Many of the t-shirt printing websites have a flashy little feature where you can design your own t-shirts online. It’s a clever bit of software that lets you choose the text, font, images, colours etc, and build your own t-shirt design yourself. So what’s the catch? Read on…
Well, the software can be fiddly to say the least. You’ll sit there for at least half an hour trying to put a half-decent design together, and by the time you’ve finally done it, you realise you’re not really cut out for this fashion deigner lark, and wished you’d never bothered in the first place.
Secondly - the price is almost always astronomical compared to just telling a t-shirt designer what you want and letting them get on with it, plus the t-shirts will look a lot better if you leave it to the experts. Part of the reason for the high prices is that the online t-shirt designer software costs a fortune to make (computer programmers don’t work for peanuts y’know!), so this cost is passed onto you.
Not only is the price of the t-shirts going to be expensive, but the delivery charge gets added ON TOP of that as well, and it’s probably going to be pretty hefty. There’s a big difference between paying £10ish for a t-shirt compared to £15+, especially when there’s a large number of people in your stag party group. Better off sticking with a local t-shirt shop where you can go and collect the shirts yourself. Failing that, make sure you know the full cost PLUS postage PLUS VAT before you go ahead and commit.
In summary - don’t bother with “design your own t-shirts online” type websites if you want the best deal. More tips to follow! Want to order Stag T-Shirts? Click here for a quote!
